Established in 1997 by an avid amateur sea-shell collector, the Phuket Sea Shell Museum has grown into one of the world’s largest sea-shell collections with over two thousand items. Notable exhibits include the world’s largest gold-colored pearl (140 karats), and a matchless collection of fossilized ancient shells. Each exhibit includes comprehensive explanations in English and Thai, making it an ideal attraction for family entertainment, with guests able to compare and contrast differing characteristics among related species. The museum is thoughtfully planned, and the entrance fee is reasonable.
