Located about 17 km from from Chalong along the most beautiful stretch of highway on Phuket, Rawai Beach is a traditional fishing village that has become a magnet for lovers of fresh seafood. The many restaurants and food stalls in Rawai use the day’s catch for either traditional Thai dishes or contemporary cuisine. Rawai is also the departure point for boat trips to the small islands around Phuket. There are several small hotels, and the beach itself is good for swimming and other marine activities.
